All my life I have seemed to be dealing with some type of mental illness whether it be from my depression or from my S.A.D. during the winter time. Though it isn’t everyday that I have to deal with mental illness, I have to say there are a lot of good days that come my way during the tough times of my mental illness.
So that is where the fun comes in. I have learned that through fun it can take some of the symptoms of my mental illness away from time to time but it like medications isn’t the magical answer to curing mental illness. But I am going to let you know how I tend to have fun on the days that aren’t so bad to deal with my mental illness.
My favorite thing to do is play video games, along with listening to music and surfing the web. I also use this web site and my typing different posts on this site as a way to deal with some of my symptoms of my mental illness.
Fun can be used in many ways some negative and some positive. Though the one thing that I preach is to do your ways of having fun in positive ways because negative ways can have very bad consequences and then sometimes ending up causing symptoms of your mental illnesses to flare up. Which is not healthy.
When you choose to do healthy ways of having fun sometimes you forget about all of your problems that are caused by your mental illness from time to time and that alleviates some of the days that are considered really bad days that you can’t live through and that you feel hopeless because of.
That is why I really feel that having fun even when you feel at your worst point is the best thing you can do even if you have to push yourself to do something whether it just be watching t.v. or just cuddling with your loved one on the couch and watching a movie together.
Though one part of the reason I am writing this post is to find out what some of my readers like to do for fun when they are trying to deal with their mental illness in a positive way. I am always open for new ideas for myself since I deal with symptoms of my mental illnesses on a daily basis and though I am very grateful that I have a loving wife that can help me through a lot of my severe symptoms from my mental illnesses.
So please take a moment and comment back to me and let me know what you like to do for fun when you are trying to forget the problems you are having because of your life with dealing with your symptoms of your mental illnesses. Even though it seems like I have my mental illnesses under control, you are far from the truth on that one because I myself deal with some time of symptom from my mental illness on a daily basis.
But I would like to learn new ways to cope with them through fun activities and positive coping skills. So please pass the site on to friends and family and keep coming back because this site is back on track and I am hoping that I can help someone through this site and I am also open for advice on any changes that you think would make this site better for me and the people that come to it to read the information and remember there is no stupid idea I will take every comment and personally read it myself and I always respond to everyone myself personally.
So if you found this information helpful, Please share it with others.

It is a story of courage, faith, resilience, perseverance, and an unflinching belief in oneself despite countless verdicts to the contrary. The book, Wrestling With the Goddess written by Azeem Kayum is a role model for all ‘normal’ people who may feel daunted by the daily challenges of life.
I am glad I stumbled upon this site. Since addressing my mental illness with medicine, something I avoided for a long time until I had no choice, I am now looking for positive ways to deal being ill, including your suggestion of humor and having fun. Just the other day I was low, asking myself what was the point of doing anything; then I realized I would never say that to anyone else, I would only encourage them to keep going even during the low points. If you share my experience, it is hard during the low points to reason with ones self, but I came out of it and feel better now. And yes, I agree-make sure the fun things are not going to trigger any depression. I learned that the hard way. Now I realize how important it is to take care of myself. THANKS for you site and I will be sure to bookmark it and visit frequently.
